About PerformO
PerformO represents a vision.
This vision is enable technology for sports performance, health and wellness, which was once the reserve of the mega rich of Hollywood or the professional sportsman to become available for everybody.
In 2004 Gareth Holebrook established a franchise of Simulated Altitude Training (SAT), and has been continuing to broaden the appeal of SAT to everybody in all walks of life since then.
Gareth completed the 2005 Speight's Coast to Coast World Champs on his first attempt. Only 4 weeks later he completed his first Ironman Triathlon at IMNZ05, in Taupo. "There is no way I could have manged the training volume to get to the start line, let alone the finish of two events without the aid of Simulated Altitude Training! I was no where near the front of the field in either race, but I feel that this huge achievement can be attributed to the boost from SAT.
The initial ESR10 machine commissioned under the BodyO2 brand continues to serve many of Christchurch’s top athletes enabling them to gain an edge in international competition. Amateur athletes in dozens of codes from Athletics, Boxing and Cycling to Rugby, Softball, Triathlon and Yachting also find that it enables them to achieve a personal best and to compete strongly against their peers.
The majority those using SAT now do so in preparation for Adventure Travel in the Himalayas, Andes or some other once in a lifetime locations. Many of our most loyal guests visit us because they experience a boost in their health. This includes improved sleep patterns for shift workers, improved breathing for asthmatics, reduction in chronic fatigue, stress management even as an aid in rehabilitation from Pneumonia.
In November 2006 we severed our relationship with BodyO2 and are now wholly independent under the brand PerformO. We will continue to offer our existing service as well as improve its quality whilst growing awareness of the huge benefits SAT has to offer to everybody.
Most excitingly we are about to launch into portable altitude simulators. Ultimately we plan to establish a comprehensive Sports performance, fitness health and wellness (SPFHW) portfolio.
